Recruitment is now closed for the DIAMOND Study. Thank you to everyone who took part.
Are you aged between 18 and 35 or over 55?
We are looking for participants in the UK to take part in a UEA sponspored study investigating how our genes and diet influence the risk of dementia, and the role of the gut microbiome in this.
Dietary compounds called polyphenols are thought to help protect against the development of a number of age-related conditions and have also been linked to reducing Alzheimer’s risk. Polyphenols are found in a number of foods, including many fruits and vegetables, as well as tea and dark chocolate.
Scientists at UEA and the Quadram Institute want to better understand how these compounds, called polyphenols, influence the microbiome and Alzheimer’s risk. The study is led by Dr David Vauzour.
The study will involve:
- Providing a saliva sample
- If selected, donating a stool sample to populate a sophisticated model of the gut
The study can be carried out fully remotely from your own home.
