Using genome scale tools to understand bacteria

Host: Ian Charles

Abstract:

Work in my laboratory is focused on understanding bacterial gene regulation on a chromosome-wide scale. Since gene regulation underpins diverse biological processes application of genome-scale tools provides insight into diverse cellular processes. Our current research interests include understanding how bacteria i) manage toxic DNA sequences ii) become resistant to antibiotics and iii) control pathogenicity.
