Discover more about our latest food, health and gut microbiome research in pubs and venues across Norwich
From 18 to 20 May researchers from across Norwich Research Park will be sharing their exciting science at pubs and venues across our fine city of Norwich.
Here’s some of the exciting science our researchers will be talking about:
The Art of Science
Discover how biotechnology can sculpt and recolour flowers through DNA, turning petals into living artworks. Then explore how artistic flair transforms scientific graphics and botanical illustration.
The event at the Artichoke on Monday 18 May features a talk from our scientist:
-
The Art of the Gut: Conversations Between the Gut and the Brain with Dr Amisha Modasia

Why are scientists interested in our poo?
Your gut is home to trillions of microbes and yes, we even study them in poo. This event explores how scientists use stool to understand health, how our microbiome changes as we age, and why that matters for diseases like cancer and Alzheimer’s and how microbes make everything from sourdough to steak substitutes.
Taking place on Wednesday 20 May at the Garage the event includes talks from our researchers:
- Why are scientists interested in our poo? with Yasmin Briddon
- From Sauerkraut to Steak: Microbes on the Menu with Michaela Kolmosova
Book tickets for “Microbes: Friends, Foes and Fermenters” event
