The Forum
We’re excited to be taking part in Norwich’s annual celebration of science and technology in February 2023.
You can learn more about our latest research into the gut microbiome, food and health through a range of exhibitions, talks and events. We’ll be at the Norwich Research Park Day where you can discover with us just how small microbes are. The Clinical Research Facility team will be there too, explaining more about how our clinical trials work.
Plus we’ll be at Food and Farming Day, where you can learn about the role of plants in our diet, and the relationship between our liver, food and our health.
On Tuesday 14 February we’ll be part of the Science Discovery Day at Diss Corn Hall.
Throughout the festival see the diversity of people who work on the Norwich Research Park through the What is a scientist? exhibition organised by Senior Researcher Dr Emma Waters.
Our staff and students are giving the following talks too:
- Out Thinkers – Celebrating LGBTQ+ in STEM – Two of our researchers, Senior Researcher Dr Emma Waters and Group Leader Professor Cynthia Whitchurch are part of a panel discussion celebrating the fantastic and diverse STEM community in Norfolk.
- What’s up with the chicken’s gut? A family show by PhD student Bushra Schuitemaker about her passion for chickens and how their gut and microbiome works
- Microbe – managing cancer: using gut bacteria to fight tumours This talk by PhD student Christopher Price will explore the future of bacterial therapies for cancer and highlight exciting new discoveries made in Norwich.
