Norfolk and North Suffolk residents can sign up online to health, nutrition and food research studies
20th May 2026
We invite residents to join our online database matching you to research studies in our state-of-the-art clinical research facility.

You can sign up online to our ‘match-making’ health research database.
Residents in Norfolk and North Suffolk can sign up online to join our ‘match-making’ database which will keep you informed when health-related research studies that may suit your needs begin.
It’s never been easier to connect to human studies in the region: you can let us know you’re interested by filling in details including your age, gender and dietary requirements on the online form. You’ll enter our database and we will contact you by your preferred method if you qualify for any study.
Our dedicated human studies team will send you details of the study along with details on how to apply to participate. There is no obligation to take part in any study and you can be removed from the database at any time. Data held in the database are secure, kept confidential and only accessible by authorised members of Quadram Institute staff.
At the Quadram Institute, we run, support and promote human studies learning more about human health – from how gut microbes are shared within families to how plants can improve micronutrient deficiencies.
We are on a mission to ensure our research helps develop new treatments and health interventions benefitting us all. To achieve this, we need to increase the reach and representativeness of the individuals signed up to our database. Anyone can join our growing community supporting health, nutrition and food research.
Recent data reveal that 13.2% of Norfolk’s population live in areas that are within the 20% most deprived areas in England, with the severest deprivation concentrated in Great Yarmouth, Norwich and King’s Lynn.
We particularly welcome individuals from underserved communities living in Norfolk and North Suffolk, along with young individuals under 50, to sign up and contribute to cutting-edge research. Taking part in research provides you with important data on your health and we reimburse your travel costs.
Our new online sign up form provides a more inclusive and digital alternative to the paper-based form, which you can still access. We aim to break down accessibility barriers to taking part in research.
Our studies are often based at our purpose-built Clinical Research Facility and can involve our partners the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and University of East Anglia. The NIHR Norfolk Clinical Research Facility is a NHS-governed facility and undertakes clinical research in compliance with the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations 2004 and the Human Tissue Act 2004.
