I am an ORUK funded PhD student working on the application of rapid nanopore sequencing to the diagnosis of prosthetic joint infections.

Currently I am developing human DNA depletion/pathogen DNA enrichment methods for direct MinION sequencing from clinical samples. Using these methods, I am evaluating a DTT based system for sample collection of prostheses called MicroDTTect on patients at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
