I am a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the Quadram Institute with broad research interests spanning phage biology, genomics, viromics and metagenomics.
My scientific career began with a BSc in Cellular and Molecular Biology, followed by an MSc in Microbiology at Azad University, Iran, where I investigated phage therapy as a sustainable approach to mitigating microbial corrosion in the petroleum industry.
I completed my PhD at the Becky Mayer Centre for Phage Research, University of Leicester, where I developed a minicell-based, metagenomics-integrated platform to study phage–host interactions within complex microbial communities in September 2025.
Since joining the Quadram Institute in October 2025, I have been developing phage-based biocontrol strategies targeting multidrug-resistant Salmonella in animals and investigating antimicrobial resistance genes, prophages, and viral community dynamics.
