I am a PhD student part of the Norwich Research Park Doctoral Training Partnership supervised by Dr Naiara Beraza.

My project focuses on the role of Sirtuin 1 in the liver-gut response to an unhealthy (high-fat) diet. In the long term, this project will help us understand how to better tackle liver disease (MAFLD) to offer new treatments for patients suffering from this disease.

Previously, I graduated in 2020 with a BSc in Biology with a year in Europe at the University of York. Preceding this, I undertook a Master’s Research at Imperial College London in Biomedical Sciences (Microbiome in Health and Disease) where I focused on the gut-brain axis and quantifying amino acid concentration in faeces from different diets using Mass Spectrometry. I pursued my academic career as a Research Assistant in the Genetic and Genomic Medicine department at UCL, creating biomarker assays for rare genetic diseases using Mass Spectrometry.
