I first got interested in plant epigenetics when I pursued a plant epigenetics based undergraduate project at the University of Cambridge. I came to the John Innes Centre to pursue a master’s degree on the Plant Genetics and Crop Improvement course after which I decided to pursue a PhD in Xiaoqi Feng’s lab, investigating the epigenetic landscape of the male sexual lineage in Arabidopsis, focusing on sRNA distributions and the RdDM pathway. I pivoted to a project investigating the DNA methylation profile in Marchantia embryos which is what I have focused on for the second half of my PhD, which I defended in 2024.
I am now eager to leverage my expertise and enthusiasm in bioinformatics to support a variety of projects at the Quadram Institute.
