I am a PhD student on a NIHR studentship in the Mather group.
I joined the Mather group in 2025 with my project focus being the use of genomics to gain insight into enhancing detection and characterisation of neglected GI pathogens.
In 2025, I graduated from the University of York with an integrated master’s degree in natural sciences specialising in biology. Early on in my degree I developed a passion for microbiology which led me to a master’s research project working with E. coli. My research was focused on how collisions of molecular machinery are prevented through the regulation of gene replication and its coordination with transcription.
