I completed an MBiolSci degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Leicester.
During my time at university I developed an interest in phage biology and conducted a research project isolating and characterising mycobacteriophages from Leicestershire environmental samples. I also explored antibiotic-phage synergy interactions for the treatment of UTI-causing multidrug resistant K. pneumoniae and how media affects these interactions.
My current research interests look at developing bacteriophage cocktails to replace antibiotics in agriculture, specifically in the treatment of Salmonella and Enterotoxigenic E. coli in pigs.
