My research in Professor Buscaino’s group at the Quadram Institute focuses on understanding evolution of RNAi pathways in fungal genomes, with a focus on Candida albicans. Towards this question, I use traditional bioinformatic analyses along with custom approaches to analyse fungal genomes, and other relevant Next Generation Sequencing data (sRNA sequencing, Hi-C, ATAC-Seq).

Before joining the Quadram Institute, I was a Post Doctoral Fellow at Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, University of California, Irvine, CA, where my work focused on understanding microbial community dynamics in response to different ecological factors like nutrient availability, precipitation, fire and vegetation.

I hold a PhD degree in biological sciences with a specialization in computational microbial genomics. My thesis work primarily focused on organization of long DNA repeats in bacterial genomes.
