I completed my PhD at the UEA where I used mouse models to investigate muscle stem cell kinetics and dynamics in response to injury. My thesis focused on adult muscle regeneration and aimed to further our understanding of muscle biology to help develop strategies to combat muscular dystrophies and age-related sarcopenia.

My work at the Quadram Institute, in the Parker group, continues that theme of healthy ageing. We are aiming to characterise and modulate beneficial gut bacteria and their metabolites in order to protect the ageing eye and brain.
