I obtained my PhD in 2016 at the Structural and Molecular Biology Department at UCL where I worked with bacterial resistance and regulatory response to Arsenic. My PhD was fully funded by the Brazilian program Science without borders by CnpQ.
In 2017 I started working with biofilm formation and maturation in pathogenic bacteria as a Post-Doctoral Research Assistant with Dr James Garnett. I worked at Garnett’s until 2019 and during this period our group relocated from Queen Mary University London to Kings College London.
I have moved to Norwich to work with Professor Cynthia Whitchurch and to gain a deeper understanding on bacterial lifestyles associate with external stresses. My scientific interests are on understanding the different ways bacteria behave under pressure, including presence of antimicrobial compounds, and how that can be linked to biofilm formation.
