I’m a  MMB DTP doctoral student studying the gut microbiome and its viral inhabitants, focusing on how these tiny viruses interact with their host bacteria in the human aging gut.

Before I joined the Adriaenssens group, I was immersed in the world of bacteriophages at Makerere University. I studied the ones that could potentially cause diseases in both animals and humans. It was there that my fascination with these microscopic creatures began.

Beyond the lab, I’m an active science communicator. I run a blog called “The Phage,” where I aim to make the science of bacteriophages accessible to everyone. I also contribute guest posts to various websites, all in the hope of shedding light on the importance of these tiny viruses in the human gut.

My work could have significant implications, potentially leading to breakthroughs in therapy and human health.
