My reserach project is funded by the charity Invest in ME Research and the University of East Anglia. My project focuses on the role of human viruses in the gut of people with myalgic encephalomyelitis / chronic fatigue syndrome. This includes studying the presence of human viruses in people with ME/CFS using metagenomics methods. A key aspect of the project is a clinical trial investigating the efficacy and safety of faecal microbiota transplants in people with ME/CFS, and the role of human viruses in this treatment.
Before this PhD project, I obtained a master’s in molecular and cellular life sciences at Utrecht University.
