As the Head of Business Development and Commercialisation, I lead the BD team at the Quadram Institute.
Before joining the Quadram Institute, I was providing end-to-end business development support for the neuroscience portfolio of early drug discovery projects at LifeArc, a leading medical research charity. I started at LifeArc as an Analyst in the Opportunity Assessment Group, where I was appraising a wide breadth of novel technologies and collaboration proposals both from a scientific and commercial potential angle, and then joined the LifeArc Business Development team 18 months later.
My background is in molecular and synthetic biology. During my postdoctoral work in Dr Jason Chin’s group at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, I contributed to the development of novel methods to incorporate designer amino acids at a defined site in a protein of choice by means of genetic-code expansion in mammalian model systems. I received my BSc degree in Molecular Biology from University College London and my PhD also in Molecular Biology from the University of Cambridge.
