I'm currently working in the Webber group, where I am characterising transposon mutant libraries in Shewanella.
I completed my PhD at the University of East Anglia, where I studied the isoprene metabolic pathway in an environmental bacterium. Since then, I developed targeted enrichment and isolation strategies to acquire carbon monoxide oxidising bacteria from volcanic deposits, followed by targeted mutagenesis studies using newly-isolated strains.
My research interests relate to the metabolism and survival of environmental bacteria. I approach research using a combination of molecular genetics and omics approaches.
