I am a Research Assistant in Narbad group working on the microbiome theme of the NIHR funded Health Protection Research Unit in Gastrointestinal Infection, in collaboration with Oxford University, UEA and Liverpool University. My work is focused on application of metagenomics and metabolomics for identification of biomarkers of gut infection.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology and a Master’s in Biology from the University of Padova (Italy) and I also have a MSc in DNA Profiling from the University of Central Lancashire. During Master’s I focused on the study of a neutrophil-activating protein produced by an enterohepatic Helicobacter bacterium and also on production and evaluation of DNA profiles from forensic samples.
