Mechanisms regulating the gut-liver axis during health and disease
I am a BBSRC funded Doctoral Training Partnership student in Naiara Beraza’s lab group. My PhD focuses on the role of intestinal SIRT1 in the regeneration of the liver.
In 2018, I graduated from the University of Reading with a first class degree in Biological Sciences. From here, I undertook a MSc in Molecular medicine, where I learnt about cancer therapeutics, cardiovascular disease and regenerative medicine.
Throughout my education, I have built an extensive knowledge of molecular biology, which I am now excited to apply to my research at the Quadram Institute. My project aims to decipher the molecular mechanisms underpinning liver regeneration, potentially resulting in the preservation of health in those suffering with liver disease.
