My work focuses on the genetic control of cellular energy metabolism in the human liver. Using RNAseq and high-throughput metabolomics supported by specific enzyme assays and live cell energy phenotyping, I aim to characterize the role of a gene known as PAPOLG in metabolic homeostasis, shedding light on how its allelic status may influence systemic metabolic health.
As part of my PhD studies I undertook a 3-month internship in research communications with the MADE Agency. During my time at MADE, I assisted in infographics design workshops with Infohackit and gained experience in media relations as lead publicist for the Pint of Science 2017 festival.
