Are you healthy, 18 years or older, do you regularly consume meat, and do you live within 40 miles of Norwich? You may be eligible to participate in the TESSA study.

The TESSA study aims to understand if and how pomegranate extract can change the production of a compound associated with increased heart disease risk.

We are conducting an 18-day study about the effect of a pomegranate extract on the production of trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO). TMAO is produced in some individuals who consume meat.

The study will involve:

  • Following a restricted diet
  • Blood collections at visits
  • Urine collections
  • Stool collections
  • A dietary questionnaire

Update: Due to the overwhelming number of interest for the TESSA study, we will be asking respondents to be placed on a waitlist
