Applications are invited for a part-time Executive Support Assistant (job share) to join Quadram Institute Bioscience (QIB), based in Norwich, UK.

Background:

The Quadram Institute is a new interdisciplinary research institute at the forefront of a new era in food and health research. Its mission is to understand how food and the gut microbiota are linked to the promotion of health and the prevention of disease. A partnership between Quadram Institute Bioscience, the University of East Anglia, the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and BBSRC, it brings together scientists and clinicians in a new state-of-the-art building. The Quadram Institute is based on the Norwich Research Park, one of Europe’s largest centres of life sciences and home of the John Innes Centre and The Earlham Institute.

The Executive Support Assistant will be part of the Administrative Support team within the Directorate, with a particular focus on the Food Innovation and Health programme, supporting the Programme Leader and Deputy Leader.

The Food Innovation and Health Programme focuses on understanding how individual foods and diets can help us to maintain and improve our health and developing innovative foods that promote healthy ageing.

The role:

The post holder will work as part of the Administration Support team within the Directorate, supporting both the Food Innovation and Health Programme and other areas within the Institute. Their duties will include:

  • Providing administrative support and diary management to the Programme Leader, Deputy Leader, Group Leaders and their groups
  • Organising meetings and taking minutes
  • Arranging extensive travel and conference attendance both in the UK and overseas
  • Liaising with external visitors and coordinating events

The ideal candidate:

To be considered for this role, applicants should have at least 5 GCSEs grades A*-C, or equivalent. They should also possess excellent organisation and communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes. Experience of minute taking and diary management is essential.

Additional information:

Salary on appointment will be within the range £24,300 to £26,000 per annum pro rata depending on qualifications and experience. This post is a job share position working 16 hours per week (Thursday 08:30 – 17:00 and Friday 08:30 – 17:00) on a permanent basis.
