We’re looking for a PA/Project Support Assistant (Maternity Cover) to join the Food & Nutrition National Biosciences Research Infrastructure (F&N NBRI) team.
Background
The Food & Nutrition National Bioscience Research Infrastructure (F&N-NBRI) is a national coordinating ‘hub’ in nutrition and health and the leading national provider of new and continuously updated data, tools and services vital for UK public health, research and innovation. It is ideally positioned within Quadram Institute Bioscience (QIB), in its National Capability role, to acquire unique understanding of the research needs around data and tools focusing on food, gut microbes and health, that can benefit the wider research community (academia, industry, users). F&N-NBRI resources relating to food composition, intake and food systems demonstrate effective uptake in four areas: research and innovation, healthcare and consumers, policy and industry.
The role
This is an important central role to support the team in the administration and management of a range of projects as well as external communications with researchers and other key stakeholders in the UK and internationally.
The role will require excellent interpersonal skills to provide administrative support for national and European science projects, including meeting and travel organisation, reporting and dissemination activities. The post holder will also be responsible for providing support for the NBRI-Lead and Deputy-Lead, diary and email management, UK and international travel organisation, website updating and maintenance, minute taking, financial reconciliation of invoices and travel expenses. It will also involve capturing metrics, compiling/extracting data for reporting, liaising with team members on content for project reports/presentations.
The ideal candidate
The successful candidate will have excellent organisation and communication skills, be highly IT literate (including Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc), be flexible, and be able to manage their own workload effectively. Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous. Some experience in website editing (ideally WordPress) is also desirable.
Additional information
Salary on appointment will be within the range £27,750 to £34,500 per annum (pro-rata for part-time working) depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time or part-time maternity cover post expected to last for 12 months, this could be shorter or longer depending on when the absent employee returns to work.
