Year 10 Science Camp open for applications

13th December 2018

Applications are now open for the 2019 Year 10 Science Camp.

If you are currently a student in Year 10, being educated in Norfolk or Suffolk, and are interested in a career in science, the Year 10 Science Camp is a fantastic opportunity to find out from researchers on the Norwich Research Park about being a scientist.

The 2019 Year 10 Science Camp week will take place between 8 – 12 July. During that week, you’ll meet some of the world’s best plant and microbial scientists, find out what working in scientific research is really like and learn more about how science is changing the world and addressing global challenges now and in the future.

You’ll get the chance to carry out real scientific investigations, meet current students working at the institutes on the Norwich Research Park, chat with some of the people who attended previous camps and learn how to communicate your research findings. Two days will also be spent working in the laboratories, hosted by world-leading researchers, to give you a real feel for research careers after university.

On their experience of the 2017 camp a student said “I definitely recommend this amazing experience to the younger years at school. I’ve already shared a lot of my experience with close friends and family members, who all agreed that the week sounded great”.

Applications close on the 11th January 2019 and late applications won’t be accepted. The Year 10 Science Camp is highly competitive and unfortunately we cannot accept all of the applicants on to the camp. We encourage you to fill out the application form and personal statement fully, as these and your teacher’s reference will be used to allocate places on the camp.
